Stoke City Secures Manager’s Future
Mark Robins has penned a fresh three-and-a-half-year contract with Stoke City, solidifying his role as the club’s manager through 2027. The 55-year-old, who joined the Potters in January, has swiftly turned the Championship side into promotion contenders.
Under Robins’ guidance, Stoke currently sit third in the Championship table, just two points behind the automatic promotion places after 15 matches. The team’s impressive form has fans dreaming of a swift return to the Premier League.
Championship Push Intensifies
Stoke’s recent 1-0 defeat to Coventry City—Robins’ former club—saw them drop from second to third, but the Potters remain firmly in the promotion hunt. The club’s chairman, John Coates, praised Robins’ impact, stating,
“It has been clear during his short time with the club to date that Mark is the right fit as manager of Stoke City. The progress we have made on the field has been extremely encouraging.”
Coaching Staff Also Extend Deals
Robins’ backroom team—Paul Nevin, James Rowberry, Ryan Shawcross, and Darren Behcet—have also committed to new contracts, ensuring continuity in the club’s coaching setup.
Robins’ Vision for the Future
Robins, who aims to guide Stoke back to the top flight for the first time since 2018, expressed his pride and commitment:
“We know it’s going to take time and that there will be tough as well as enjoyable periods along the way, but we are in it for the long haul.”
The manager’s long-term vision aligns with the club’s ambition, setting the stage for an exciting chapter in Stoke City’s history.
