Liverpool are preparing to open contract renewal talks with Alexis Mac Allister, with the club determined to keep the 27-year-old Argentine international despite significant interest from across Europe.
According to Caught Offside, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in signing Mac Allister during the current transfer window, while Chelsea and Manchester City recently made contact to explore a deal. Liverpool, though, have no intention of entertaining bids for the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner and are focused solely on securing an extension.
Mac Allister’s Impact at Anfield
Mac Allister was among the final signings made under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, and his performances have added to the German’s lasting legacy at the club. Since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2023, the Argentine has been arguably the most consistent presence in the squad. He hit the ground running in his debut season and has not looked back.
Across 150 appearances for the Merseyside club, Mac Allister has contributed 19 goals and 20 assists from midfield. His form at club and international level has drawn attention from some of Europe’s biggest names.
A Man in Demand
Chelsea’s pursuit of a midfielder in the closing weeks of the summer window is tied directly to Enzo Fernandez’s uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. Despite a self-imposed deadline passing without resolution, Manchester City’s interest in Fernandez has not cooled, and City are expected to move for the Chelsea vice-captain if Rodri departs. That has placed Mac Allister, Fernandez’s compatriot, firmly on Chelsea’s shortlist.
Real Madrid’s interest in Mac Allister is longer-standing. The Spanish club has yet to adequately replace the influence of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric in central midfield since both departed the Santiago Bernabeu, and Mac Allister’s well-rounded profile makes him an appealing candidate.
Tottenham’s situation is more puzzling. The club has already moved decisively in midfield this window, signing Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. With Lucas Bergvall also retained, a player whose style closely mirrors Mac Allister’s, the continued reported interest from North London is difficult to reconcile.

Regardless of who was watching, none of Liverpool’s rivals stood a realistic chance. Mac Allister has made clear his commitment to the club, and with the Reds equally determined to tie him down, a new deal appears imminent. Follow TipsGG for the latest updates as this situation develops.
