Ipswich have completed the signings of Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara from Strasbourg on Monday, with manager Gary O’Neil reuniting with both players from his time in France.
Enciso Returns to Portman Road for £25 Million
Enciso joins in a deal worth a reported £25 million ($33 million), returning to the club where he spent six months on loan from Brighton in 2025. That spell ended with Ipswich’s relegation from the Premier League. The Paraguay winger then moved to Strasbourg in September 2025, where he caught O’Neil’s attention before the manager departed for Ipswich in the close-season. Enciso participated in the recent World Cup with Paraguay and has now committed to a five-year contract at Portman Road.
“I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club and I was so happy to see them win promotion back to the Premier League last season. I worked with the manager in France last season and the chance to play for him again at a great club like Ipswich is one I’m very excited for.” — Julio Enciso
Ipswich secured promotion to the Premier League in May under Kieran McKenna, who stepped down at the end of last season.
Ouattara Completes £17 Million Move Ahead of Season Opener
Ivorian forward Abdoul Ouattara, 20, also signed at Portman Road, agreeing a contract until 2031 to complete his £17 million transfer. The move was finalized ahead of Ipswich’s Premier League opener at home to Sunderland on Saturday.
“Abdoul is a talented young player who can play in different positions, so is a very good addition to our squad. We enjoyed working with him in France last season and are delighted to have the opportunity to do so again at Ipswich.” — Gary O’Neil
With two Strasbourg imports already embedded in his system, O’Neil is building Ipswich’s top-flight return around players he knows and trusts. Follow TipsGG for full coverage of Ipswich’s Premier League campaign.
