Hanwha Life Esports vs DRX Match Prediction

Both teams come into week two on completely opposite sides of the Standings.

While DRX went 2-0 on week one, not dropping a game versus Fredit BRION and Nongshim RedForce, and looked like a team that will definitely be in contention for a playoff spot.

Hanwha Life Esports went 0-2, managing to take a game from Kwangdong Freecs but still lost the series, and versus Gen.G they were completely dominated, as should be expected.

The Split could start in a worse way for Hanwha Life Esports, and after a really bad Spring Split, where the team finished in last place on the standings, with a record of 3-15, there were no roster changes which indicates that unless a miracle happens this squad will once again be staying in the bottom of the standings.

LCK is currently in a Late game meta, as most of the regions seem to be with the exception of LPL, and normally that can benefit some of the weaker teams, however, you still need to have a decent early game which Hanwha Life Esports is far from.

With an average gold deficit of almost 2k at the 14-minute mark, a very low first tower rate of only 20%, and a first blood percentage of 40%.

If you combine this with the fact that individually they are not the best mechanically gifted players, and as a team has not shown anything interesting in the past 3/4 months as a roster is easy to see why DRX is the clear favorite to win this series.

DRX has a solid early game, averaging a gold lead of almost 1k at the 14-minute mark, when ahead at the 14-minute mark they win 100% of the games, have a high first tower rate of 75%, and a decent first blood rate of 50%.

This squad already made playoffs last Split and is expected to do the same in this one. With a very experienced bot lane in BeryL and Deft, which is fair to say are right now a top 3 bot lane in the league.

Kingen has proved to be a solid top laner and is playing at a very high level currently, while Zeka has also been performing spectacular as of late.

It seems they understand the meta well, and it plays to the individual strengths of the players and the team.

DRX is a much better team, in my opinion, both on paper, when it comes to individual skill, but also how they play as a team. Their drafts sometimes don’t look ideal, but they are able to make them work.

I see DRX winning this series, in a comfortable and dominant way. Hanwha Life Esports would have to step up a lot in order to even make this series an interesting one.
