Five reasons to watch IEM Dallas 2022

After almost 2,5 years without an audience in North America, the CS:GO community will follow events at IEM Dallas 2022. 16 teams from all over the world will fight for the trophy and $100,000. Here you’ll find five reasons, why you should watch this tournament.

CS returns to NA

IEM Dallas is the first international tournament in North America since December 2019. Then the ESC Season 8 was played in Arlington, where Astralis won against Team Liquid in the grand final. This was before the pandemic, when Astralis still dominated the scene and won tournament after tournament. In fact, The last international tournament in the United States was Flashpoint Season 1, but it was without an audience, and when the pandemic have already started.

I can say with confidence that fans of NA miss international events in their home region, and they are looking forward to the start of IEM Dallas 2022. The North American scene in CS:GO was almost destroyed in 2020 when the pandemic started and Valorant was published. A lot of players switch to the shooter by Riot. But over time, things got better, with a few new players, and teams. Yes, the game form of teams from North America leaves much to be desired, but the situation is improving every month.

IEM Dallas 2022 must give a breath of fresh air to all NA CS.

FaZe Clan is ready to build a dynasty?

The teams, who won Major in CS:GO, continued to dominate on the scene after the victory at the most important tournament. FaZe Clan managed to take the victory at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 without any problems. After the week since the grand final, they will attend IEM Dallas 2022. karrigan and co won all tier-1 LAN tournaments this year: IEM Katowice 2022, EPL S15, and Major in Belgium. Almost the only team that could prevent FaZe Clan from winning and the upcoming tournament was Natus Vincere. But due to problems with visas, the team will miss this tournament, and we will see them in Lisbon in the middle of June.

According to this, I think, FaZe Clan will win IEM Dallas 2022 as simple as tournaments before. I don’t think that team will feel fatigued, or has problems with motivation. All of them are true professionals and are responsible for almost every match. There is a feeling that FaZe Clan this year will be just invincible.

G2 is on the brink of changes

G2 Esports was one of the most active teams on the transfer market before this season. They manage to sign a young-start m0NESY from NAVI Junior, and traded nexa to OG for AleksiB. The roster looked so interesting and promising. The first results were also satisfactory – they qualified for BLAST Premier Spring Finals and took 2nd place at IEM Katowice. But after that, they didn’t make a playoff appearance at EPL S15. Although they qualified for the Major, they again missed the playoffs of the big event. Obviously that it’s not the result, that the team wanted.

This should be fixed on IEM Dallas 2022. If G2 will manage to make the playoffs, it will be good. If they don’t, the changes in the team will be closer than previously. Especially, considering that some interesting players will be on the transfer market very soon.

Liquid and CoL must defend the honor of the region

As I said in the first topic, CS scene in North America has fallen since 2020. And when the world used to live with COVID-19, we receive LAN’s with the audience, and teams from North America must return to the top. In the first part of this season, we still don’t see the solid results from the best teams in NA: Team Liquid and CoL. I’m not talking about Evil Geniuses. Yes, both of them were at Major, and Liquid made top-16, but it’s not the result, that teams want.

Where is the best and easiest to prove your strength? Right, at home. Liquid and CoL are in one group B, which makes the odds of seeing them in the playoffs better. And this is what they need now. Feel the game, go on stage in your home walls, and get worthy support from your fans.

Cloud9 debut in North America

This April, a famous US-based organization, Cloud9, signed a Russian roster of former Gambit players. They made their first debut under a new tag in Antwerp, where they lost three matches in Legends Stage, and didn’t make a playoffs’ appearance.

IEM Dallas 2022 will be the first tournament for a new roster of Cloud9 in North America. Interesting that these players made the first big victory on the esports scene in the United States. It was in September 2019, Gambit Youngsters won MSI Gaming Arena 2019. Since then, their results have been getting better and better, and the peak was first place in the HLTV rating.

It will be interesting to see, if Cloud9 attends to playoffs, how the audience will perceive the new roster of American organizations.
