Mobile Tickets: Sort This Before You Fly
Install the UEFA Mobile Tickets app, sign in and confirm your ticket has loaded while you still have solid internet at home. Your account works on one phone only. If you’re holding several tickets, transfer them to your group before heading to the stadium — no transfers are possible inside the security perimeter, and recipients can’t pass them on again.
Bring your original passport or national ID card. If the app fails, the Ticketing Centre near the stadium needs genuine ID, not a photo of one.
Getting to Salzburg: Fly In, Train Across
Salzburg Airport (SZG) is 10km southwest of the centre, about 30 minutes on bus lines B2, B10, B180, B181 or B260. Its direct network is thin, though, so flying into a bigger hub and finishing by rail is often smarter.

Book ÖBB tickets in advance and reserve a seat on Vienna routes. Driving? Use the free P+R Salzburgarena or P+R Designer Outlet — and note that Old Town access is restricted for many out-of-region vehicles throughout July and August, with fines for ignoring it.

The best perk of the day: public transport across Salzburg’s SVV network is free for match-ticket holders on 12 August, first service to last. Buses, S-Bahn, matchday shuttles and airport buses all included. Keep your mobile ticket ready for inspection.

Fan Festival and Club Meeting Points
The neutral Fan Festival at Residenzplatz runs both days, free and open to all ages, with trophy photo opportunities, skills challenges, DJ sets, food stalls and the official merchandise shop. It’s cashless. For anyone without a match ticket, the game screens live on LED walls there, free to enter — arrive early, space is limited.

PSG’s Fan Walk leaves Martin-Luther-Platz at 19:15. Villa’s Kapitelplatz takeover features club legends and live entertainment, open to Villans with or without tickets. Most PSG fans use Entrances 1 or 4; most Villa fans Entrances 2 or 3.
Three Ways to Reach Stadion Salzburg
City-centre shuttle — free from Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz from 17:00, roughly 30 minutes. Simplest option from the Old Town.
S-Bahn — lines S2 or S3 from Hauptbahnhof to Taxham Europark (five minutes), then a 15-minute walk.
Park + Ride shuttles — free from both P+R sites from 18:00, around 15 minutes.
Walking takes about an hour over 4–4.5km. Taxis are discouraged given the traffic restrictions, with one drop-off at Klessheim Walserweg. And to be clear: do not drive to the stadium. There’s no public parking.

Accessibility: Entrance 3 Is the Route
UEFA recommends the accessible shuttles, particularly from Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz — the drop-off sits roughly 50 metres from Entrance 3. Taxham Europark station, by contrast, is about 1km away.
Entrances 1, 2 and 3 are equipped to assist, with identifiable accessibility volunteers throughout. On offer: accessible toilets in Sector 118, wheelchair loan, sensory bags, priority concession lanes and audio-descriptive commentary in English, French and German via the UEFA Champions League app (bring headphones and a charged phone). Accessible parking requires a pre-booked pass. Contact UEFA ticketing in advance about assistance dogs.
Post-Match Travel: The Part That Ruins Trips
Assume a normal-time finish and ceremony wrapping around 23:30. Penalties push everything later. Then add the crowd and the queue.
Shuttles run on demand until the stadium area clears — PSG fans board at Kleßheimer Allee for the city centre (no post-match service from Martin-Luther-Platz), Villa fans at Europastraße. S-Bahn lines S2 and S3 run from Taxham Europark to Hauptbahnhof from roughly 23:00 until between 01:11 and 01:30, with extra Sonderzüge laid on.
Those get you into central Salzburg. They do not guarantee anything onward. Two hard rules:
- Salzburg Airport doesn’t operate overnight. No flights, no open services, nowhere to wait.
- Plan backwards from a post-midnight exit, not from the 21:00 kick-off.
If your last connection has no fallback, sleep in Salzburg or a nearby town with a verified service. The Salzburger Festspiele runs until 30 August, so accommodation pressure isn’t coming from the football alone.
