There’s not much time left until the new DPC season in Dota 2 starts. By the way, Valve has not yet announced when the new DPC season will start, but all the insiders on Twitter and Reddit report that it will be in November. Russian analyst Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov on his stream reported that the DPC season will begin November 29. In any case, teams still have time to staff their squads and make any necessary substitutions before the start of the new season.
Some teams have already made announcements about the changes in their lineups. We will analyze these situations in detail and also discuss rumors about teams that have not yet announced replacements on their official social networks.
The legendary ChuaN returns. Now as coach
The Philippine organization OB.Neon Esports has announced that their Dota 2 roster for next season has already been formed. Two young Indonesian players have joined the team. Mamang Daya is the team’s new mider. He is only 19 years old and played in the second SEA Division last season with the team Army Geniuses. This team is not a solid performer but some of the players are already on the radar of big-name teams. The second newcomer is you_K. He will play in the fifth position, he’s 22 years old and he also comes from the Army Geniuses.
However, the main announcement of Team Neon is the legendary ChuaN, who will take over as a coach of the team. As of today, ChuaN is already 30 years old. He hasn’t played on any serious professional teams for a long time. Wong’s last official game was in the Open Qualifiers at the MDL Changsha Major with Echo International.

But the last serious big tournament for ChuaN was The International 2016, where he and his team Newbee placed 9-12. By the way, before that with the same Newbee, ChuaN took 3rd place at The Manila Major 2016.
OB.Neon will be ChuaN’s first team as a coach. Let’s see if the winner of The International 2012 can find success as a coach and repeat the success of his fellow Dota 2 veterans.
The new OB.Neon roster
- Jinn Marrey “Palos” P. Lamatao
- Tri Daya “Mamang Daya” Pamungkas
- Michael “Enryu” Roi Ladines
- Ravdan “Hustla” Narmandakh
- Yukatheo “you_K” Glen
- Wong “ChuaN” Hock Chuan (coach)
Last year, OB.Neon managed to place 5-6 at the ONE Esports Singapore Major. This is a very good result for the new team. The new roster of OB.Neon looks promising. Let’s see if they can compete in the new season with the other teams in the SEA region.
Quincy Crew unveils their new roster
First, Brazilian QC player Rodrigo “Lelis” Santos announced his departure from the team. It looks like Lelis himself made the decision to leave the team and it wasn’t a kick. In his message to the fans, Rodrigo thanked the team and wrote about his reasons for leaving.
The team ending/disbanding was something inevitable, at least in my eyes, since we grinded for 2 years for TI and got a relatively bad placement.
Apparently, the team still couldn’t get over their poor performance at TI and decided to rebuild the roster. Another indicator of the success of the roster is the Clan Wars. If a team beats a lot of Clan Wars but performed poorly at the tournament – you can think about keeping the roster. Apparently, Quincy Crew had problems playing on CW, which required changes to the roster.
Three new players were added to the team at once. After their experience with KheZu as a coach at TI, the QC team decided they could use an experienced captain. In addition, Maurice plays offlane and can replace Lelis. I think this is a significant reinforcement for the Quincy Crew. Also, MiLAN, who has already played 4 positions in American teams, was added to the squad. The Bosnian is remembered by the audience from playing in Digital Chaos and J.Storm. He plays his role well but has never played on a high level team.
For the 5th position, QC took a player from Singapore, not known to the general public. His nickname is ponlo. Ponlo is known as a streamer and he has some popularity in the Singapore and SEA communities. He is young and has a high matchmaking rank and is consistently in the top 20 of the SEA ladder. Malaysian journalist Leon “Arthur” Lee wrote:
I'm so so happy to see @ponlodota finally getting a good shot and recognition that he deserves. He's a rare intellectual in the scene and I'm super excited for his new journey. So proud. About time you freaking own my dude.
I can't wait to u see on a LAN. LFGGG.

Overall, the Quincy Crew has freshened up their roster nicely with players from Europe and Asia. By the way, I wonder which region QC will play next season since they only have two Americans left on the team.
Quincy Crew roster
- Yawar “YawaR” Hassan
- Quinn “Quinn” Callahan
- Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann
- Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara
- Remus “ponlo” Goh Zhi Xian
The Quincy Crew is without a coach when KheZu serves as captain. KheZu may be working on team strategies alone, but experience tells us that a coach will be very helpful in preparing for LAN events. Before that, however, the team needs a decent performance in the DPC season.
From Team Secret to Team Liquid
Changes in good and strong teams always look ambiguous. Team Secret took third place at The International 10, losing in the lower bracket to the champions – Team Spirit. Yes, their game looked a little weaker than PSG.LGD. Secret made mistakes, including at the draft stage. As a result, the team decided to reshuffle the roster. Offlaner of Secret Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg left the team.
Thank you, Zai ?

— Team Secret (@teamsecret) November 3, 2021
Surprisingly, zai is considered one of the most stable offlaners on the planet. His style of play is flexible and he has a large pool of heroes. Nevertheless, Ludwig has not been without a team for long. Team Liquid, who did not play at The International 10, immediately announced zai’s move under their wings. Zai also tweeted his joining.
I've joined @TeamLiquid ! Thx for kind & nice words
— Ludwig Wåhlberg (@zai_2002) November 3, 2021
However, Team Liquid has not yet announced who will leave their team. There are rumors that qojqva and Boxi will leave the team. Such speculation makes sense because Boxi showed some of not the most stable game, and qojqva has a small pool of heroes. Also zai’s joining confirms Boxi’s leaving.
As for Team Secret, they have not yet announced a new player to replace zai in the third position.
Is ATF a new Secret’s offlaner?
Maybe Ammar “ATF” Assaf, a 16-year-old player from Jordan, will be the new Team Secret player. Ammar became the most hyped European newcomer for the last two weeks. ATF played in a mix called Creepwave. Team captain Dzmitry “fishman” Palishchuk wrote that they decided to disband the squad because some players from their team get too many offers from tier-1 organizations.

After the rumored offer for ATF from OG and Alliance was tweeted, Dzmitry revealed that these are not the only offers from tier-1 teams for this player.
He has two more cooler invites than Alliance and OG. But we’ll see what he chooses.
In any case, Team Secret’s roster isn’t fully staffed yet.
- Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen
- Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
- Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat
- Clement “Puppey” Ivanov
The community is waiting for the Secret roster and performances in the new DPC season.
Alliance Situation
We wrote about the Alliance reshuffles in our first article about team roster changes after The International 10. At that time it was already known that fng and Limmp had left the team. A little later s4 parted ways with the Swedish squad. As a result, the team needs as many as three new players. This is a very serious change in the team. Team Alliance will build the team composition from scratch.
Now the roster of Alliance team looks like this
- Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov
- Simon “Handsken” Haag
Apparently, the team management focused on Handsken because he was engaged in the tactical preparation of the team for tournaments. Even though Gustav was the formal captain, Handsken did the bulk of the work related to strategy and drafts. Simon took apart the replays of other teams and offered Alliance ideas. Perhaps the influence of s4 and fng transformed these ideas, which was reflected in the Alliance play. If the team decides not to take on an experienced captain, Handsken will have carte blanche in his hands.
Virtus.Pro changes the roster
The community in the CIS greatly overestimated the ability of Virtus.Pro to win the upcoming The International. As far as I’m concerned, VP was an average team. They weren’t contenders for the championship and weren’t favorites, but they weren’t underdogs either. They showed the appropriate result – the top 6 at the main tournament of the year. Actually, the top 6 is not a bad result and not a reason to change a roster like that. Especially since VP coach Anatoly “boo1k” Ivanov has received a lot of criticism since he joined the new Virtus.Pro team as a coach. What did boo1k have to offer the team? Obviously, his tactics and strategies did not work. This was especially true when it came to selecting heroes at the draft stage.
Nevertheless, VP decided to send to reserve, which means saying goodbye to Nightfall and Save-. The decision looks extremely strange since these two were the locomotive for their team. Looking at VP’s play at The International 10, Nightfall and Save’s play was the least questionable, while third position DM’s play didn’t seem assured.
— Virtus.pro (@virtuspro) November 1, 2021
A little later, there were reports online that Nightfall was practicing to play offlane in public games. Should we expect Yegor to move to some European or American team for the third position, as RAMZES666 did in his time. The community immediately wondered who would replace Nightfall and Save- in the future VP roster. Judging by the screenshots from the publics, Virtus.Pro tried different options. The most obvious one is Kiritych from Nemiga at the carry position. Immersion, on the other hand, was tested for the fourth position.

A little later in the Russian social network VK, Virtus.Pro General Manager Sergey Glamazda added Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev as a friend. Of course, you don’t have to be an insider to guess that RAMZES666 will also be tested for the carry position in VP. Judging by the rumors, the test was successful. Therefore, we have a very good chance of seeing Roman in the Virtus.Pro roster.

Roman Kushnarev added Sergey Glamazda to his friend list
Right now the VP roster looks unchanged, except that 2 players were sent to the bench.
- Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko (Inactive)
- Danil “gpk” Skutin
- Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin
- Vitalie “Save-” Melnic (Inactive)
- Illias “Kingslayer” Ganeev
The fate of the VP coach is not clear yet. Most likely the team will say goodbye to boo1k after a new squad is formed.
Rumors about Chinese reshuffles
In the Chinese social networks, rumors about local teams’ reshuffles don’t die down. Chinese professional players are actively discussing the situation around the teams in their region on streams. We already talked about Chinese reshuffles in our article.
Chalice, a finalist of The International 2018, has given us some new information to think about. He told us on his stream that he can definitely confirm Felix’s presence on the Royal Never Give Up team. Chalice also noted that Eurus has left Elephant, but he will not go to play mid for RNG, as Australian Dota 2 commentator, Danog speculated. Chalice said RedPanda or Super may play in the fifth position for Royal Never Give Up. Also, Chalice suggested Fade’s move to Invictus Gaming for the fourth position.
We are still waiting for Dota Pro Circuit
In any case, conclusions should only be drawn after the official lineups are announced. For now, the teams have some time to test the players and discuss their future before the new DPC season starts. This reshuffle will be one of the biggest in recent memory. We really hope that we have a lot of quality Dota in the new season.
