Liverpool face an away trip to Inter and welcome Atletico Madrid and Porto to Anfield. Manchester City bring PSG and Sporting CP to the Etihad but must visit Barcelona and Porto. Key Storylines from the Draw
Arsenal versus Real Madrid at the Emirates is maybe the single most anticipated fixture of the league phase. Real Madrid also travel to AEK Athens and Shakhtar Donetsk, and host Inter, PSV, RB Leipzig, and LASK at the Bernabeu. The Spanish giants have a manageable home slate but those away trips to London and Rome carry real danger.
Barcelona host Manchester City and Aston Villa at home, which gives them two massive nights at the Camp Nou (or their current venue). Their away schedule includes PSG, Sporting CP, Galatasaray, and Sabah FK in Azerbaijan. The trip to Paris is a repeat of last season’s knockout rounds.
Sabah FK from Azerbaijan and Viking from Norway are among the newer faces at this level, and both received glamorous draws. Sabah host Arsenal and Manchester United at home and travel to Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund. Viking welcome Bayern Munich and PSV to Stavanger. The Final in Madrid
The Estadio Metropolitano, home of Atletico Madrid since 2017, hosts the final on Saturday, June 5, 2027. This will be the second Champions League final at the ground after Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2-0 there in 2019. Madrid will be hosting its sixth final overall, second only to London in the all-time count of host cities. The winners earn a spot in the 2027-28 Champions League league phase (if not already qualified domestically) and a place in the UEFA Super Cup in August 2027 against the Europa League winners.
