BC.Game has placed Denis “electroNic” Sharipov on the bench, the organization confirmed. Sources close to the roster indicate the team is closing in on a deal with THUNDER dOWNUNDER‘s Tyson “asap” Paterson to fill the vacant spot.
BCG CEO Ali Muhanned addressed the move when contacted by HLTV, declining to confirm asap by name but framing the decision around the PGL Singapore Major invitation deadline set for early November.
“electroNic has been one of the most important people in the team off and on the server,” the CEO said. “He has been the positive guy actually, and I would say people should not trust social media or clips. He is funny and the guy that jokes around with his teammates and that also keep the guys in good vibes when needed.”
“But as the CEO I must take difficult decisions, and this is a major decision that needs to be done for the project. It has nothing to do with electroNic. If we had more time for the Major, I would have actually given him more time just because the team is new.”
The logic behind the swap centers on regional classification. Adding asap would shift BC.Game’s core from European to Asian status, a change that carries direct consequences for their Major qualification odds.
On the European VRS, BC.Game currently sits 36th, well outside the top 18 range that grants Singapore invites. Their 1,191 points tell a different story on the Asian VRS, where that total would place them fourth, inside the bracket of five teams set to receive invitations.
Six weeks remain before the deadline closes. BC.Game will use that window to build results at smaller LAN events, including ROG Journey Autumn, Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN Season 7, competitions they have either qualified for or already entered.
