The APAC second seed faced the Japanese champions with their tournament life on the line.

Northeption picked Split, while XERXIA Esports choose Haven. Bind would be the decider map if necessary.

Split

On Split, Northeption won the pistol round and also converted the eco round.

However, XERXIA Esports showed to be superior when it came to the gun rounds.

The sites seemed close for the Japanese champions, and the APAC squad was also finding a lot of success on their retakes.

Winning five rounds in a row put XERXIA Esports in control of the game.

Northeption was able to win two more rounds before that half ended, and we went into the second half with an 8-4 score, which on SPlit is not such a bad scoreline.

A pistol-round win would put Northeption back in the game, and that was exactly what happened.

The Japanese champions were able to convert four rounds in a row and tied the game 8-8.

But XERXIA Esports was able to quickly bounce back, and with some adjustments was able to win five of the last six rounds.

It was an honorable comeback attempt by Northeption but XERXIA Esports closed out the map 13-9 and drew first blood in the series.

Haven

On Haven, it was XERXIA Esports who won the pistol round and was also able to convert the eco round.

But in the gun rounds, Northeption was by far the superior team.

The Japanese champions attacking side was something of beauty, with great utility use allowing them to find easy entry kills, and Meteor playing like the superstar he is Northeption won eight consecutive rounds and were in firm control of the game.

XERXIA Esports still managed to reduce the lead before halftime, and the scoreline going into the second half was 8-4 in favor of the Japanese squad.

With the second pistol round of the game going the way of  Northeption this map seemed done and dusted.

There was still a comeback attempt by the APAC squad, but Northeption was not letting this game slip away.

With a great performance on their attacking side, Northeption was able to win Haven 13-8 and we were heading into Bind.

Bind

The map started with XERXIA Esports winning the pistol and eco round.

Northeption answered back by winning three of the last four rounds.

The rest of the first half saw both teams trading rounds back and forth, with none of the teams being able to take full control o the game.

6-6 was the score heading into halftime, and everything indicated we were going to have a very close and intense second half.

XERXIA Esports once again secured the pistol round and converted the eco round.

However, this time the Japanese champions went on a four-round win streak and were now leading 10-8 with XERXIA Esports having no money to buy into the next round, meaning Northeption had the game in the palm of their hand.

But XERXIA Esports wasn’t going down without a fight.

The APAC vice-champions armed with very little were able to win a very important round and one that on paper they shouldn’t have one.

The last three rounds were very intense and in the end, neither team managed to get to 13, we were going into overtime.

In overtime, XERXIA Esports won the first round and were now on match and series point.

Northeption however, never gave up and with a very fast-paced B site execution forced double overtime.

There we finally got to know the winner of this epic series.

After trailing in overtime Northeption kept their composure and won the map 15-13, in one of the closest series of the tournament.

With this result, XERXIA Esports is eliminated, while Northeption will face FPX tomorrow for a place in the playoffs.
