The road to Budapest is officially underway as the draw for the 2025/26 UEFA Men’s Champions League league phase has been completed. This marks the second season of UEFA’s revamped format, moving away from traditional group stages to a unified 36-team league system. More games. More drama. More opportunities – for fans and punters alike.
Instead of eight groups, all 36 clubs will compete in a single table, with each team playing eight matches – four at home and four away – against opponents drawn from four seeded pots. Teams cannot face others from their own nation at this stage, keeping early matchups tactically diverse and betting markets wide open.
The action begins on 16-18 September 2025 and concludes in late January 2026. All eyes then shift to the knockout rounds starting in February, culminating in the final at the Puskás Aréna on 30 May 2026.
How the Draw Works
Clubs were divided into four pots based on UEFA club coefficients. Each team will face two opponents from each of the other pots – no repeats, no domestic duels. This ensures eight fresh fixtures that could massively shake up the league table and betting odds every matchday.
