T1 vs Gen.G Match Prediction LCK Summer Split 2022

07.07.2022, 15:48

Week four of the LCK is here and we have some great games awaiting us.

DWG KIA faced DRX, in a series that determined if DRX can really take games out of the best teams and if DWG KIA is really the third-best team in LCK.

Then we have the most anticipated series of this Split, with T1 battling against Gen.G who is still undefeated and wants to prove they have what it takes to win the LCK 2022 Summer Split.

T1 vs Gen.G will be the series of the week for sure and has much more in play than Gen.G undefeated streak, and on point to whoever comes out on top.

This is a clash of titans and one of the biggest rivalries in Esports history.

Without further ado, let’s get right into the prediction of T1 vs Gen.G.

T1 and Gen.G are long-term rivals but in this rivalry, T1 gets the better of Gen.G most of the time (believe me I’m a Gen.G fan so I know), and after Gen.G assembled a so-called super team, seeing their biggest rivals go undefeated in the Spring Split regular season and then also dominate the playoffs securing yet another LCK title wasn’t easy.

However, currently, Gen.G is living up to the super team name. Even though it’s the regular season, and we are still on week four, Gen.G has looked like the best team in LCK.

They sit at the top of the standings undefeated, and defeating T1 is the last thing standing between them and being recognized by everyone as the best League of Legends team in Korea right now.

That and beating your rivals is always good, even if it’s just a regular-season match.

Gen.G has the best early game in the league right now, and a lot of that is because of Peanut‘s impact in the early game.

With a KDA of 9.2 and kill participation of 68%, Peanut is the one making things happen in the early game, securing Gen.G advantages with some geat ganks and objective control.

When it comes to Gen.G overall early game it’s nothing short of spectacular, at least for the LCK standards.

They have an average gold lead of almost 2k at the 14-minute mark, the biggest gold differential per minute at +371, a very high first blood percentage of 76.9%, and the same first tower rate.

Gen.G also has the lowest average game duration at 30 minutes.

One of their biggest strengths is creating big early game leads and in the mid-game, they play some very good macro and are also very strong when it comes to playing front-to-back team fights or even finding picks before the objectives spawn.

Chovy is having an MVP season and no matter his champion he is going to be able to have an impact in the game.

Finding that advantage by farming really well and getting into a point where he can carry the game, or roaming and creating plays which is something he didn’t do as much before but has been doing more and more this season.

In the draft department, Gen.G has also massively improved from the previous Split in my opinion.

They are a very flexible team, and always seem to have a car under their sleeve, like Lehends Singed, or Ruler who can play basically every ADC in the game at a high level.

Ruler and Chovy are the main carries of the team and combine for 55% of the team damage, but I have to highlight Doran performance so far this season.

Coming into this Split everyone saw Doran as the weak point of Gen.G but he improved massively and has been putting on some great performances this Split.

But this time he will have to go against what many consider the best top laner in the world, and perhaps even the best player in the world Zeus.

Zeus has been the best performing player in T1 this Split and he is one of the main ways the team is able to find advantages in the early game, by Zeus just winning top lane.

T1 early game is also very good. They have an average 1k gold lead at the 15-minute mark, a +200 gold difference at 15-minutes, a great first tower percentage of 78.6%, and a low first blood percentage of just 42.9%.

One of the biggest differences, at least stats-wise between these two colossus, is their kills vs deaths per game.

While T1 has 13 kills per game and 10,6 deaths, Gen.G has an amazing 13.6 kills per game and only 4.9 deaths.

However, T1 is not as proactive in the early game as Geng.G, despite still being a team that has no fear to press the trigger.

Their dominance in the lanning phase creates vantages by itself and allows Oner many gank opportunities and the fact that in most cases their teammates will arrive first to the skirmishes.

If T1 is able to reach the late game while even in gold, or even ahead, they are a tough team to defeat. As they will play the map really well, cross-mapping and using their vision to find some picks.

The team also excels at 5v5 team fights and is very good at setting them up around objectives.

When it comes to the draft T1 is as flexible as Gen.G, so expect the draft phase to be even more important than usual.

Keria is still the best support in the world for me, and I think that if T1 bot lane is able to get the better of Gen.G bot duo then Gen.G is going to have a hard time since despite Doran great performances I still think Zeus is better and will have a bigger impact in the game.

This is a very close game. Yes, Gen.G is undefeated but T1 is by far the best team they have ever faced this Split and will give them a run for their money.

Historically, T1 also normally gets the better of Gen.G so it’s also something to take into consideration.

I think Gen.G will take this series, but it will be a close series, and I see it going all the way to game three.

This has all the ingredients to be one of the best best-of-three series of the year. Two teams full of superstar players, two rival organizations, two big fan bases, and a lot of hype behind it.

Whoever comes out on top I’m sure one thing is for sure, we are going to have a great time watching two of the best teams in the world battling each other for domestic supremacy.
