This will be only their 11th Australia Cup match in history and just their third interstate trip, a record that reads 4-1 in both directions — beaten by Melbourne Knights in 2023, winners by the same score against Perth RedStar in 2024, both in the Round of 32. The form, though, is hard to argue with. Dan Barber’s side are on a 12-game winning streak across all competitions, taking the NPL Queensland final over Peninsula Power (1-0), the Kappa State Cup (also 1-0 over Power) and their two most recent Australia Cup ties. Add the Kappa Pro Series and the NPL Premiership and that is already four trophies in 2026.
Defensively they have been excellent, with clean sheets in five of their last six competitive matches including the State Cup — although seven of their ten Australia Cup games in total have gone over 3.5 goals. Write them off at your own peril.
