SK Gaming pulled off one of the biggest wins on Friday when they defeated G2 Esports by a pretty significant margin. Can they pull off another upset against Excel Esports, who themselves were given a shock loss by Astralis?
SK Gaming vs Excel Esports Match Prediction
SK Gaming
SK Gaming have broken their run of bad form, but still have a lot of work to do from second-last in the table. Despite a famous win last night, they’ve still got the worst KD ratio in the league of 0.64. They’ll almost be hoping that they had the form of last season where they at least managed to get seven wins on board.
That was quite an underwhelming season but it was still better than this. By most reliable metrics, they are still among the worst teams in the league overall, although their towers killed average now sits at 4.4, which is a big step up from before Friday when it was below even Team BDS’.
Excel Esports
On the other end of the table, Excel Esports are still sitting pretty on the table with five wins and three losses so far. In a sense, they’ve been the polar opposite of their upcoming opponent, but will still have Friday’s result on the back of their minds. They’ve improved quite a bit this term, managing only nine wins from nine games last time out and getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. They’ve also got the second highest KD ratio of any team so far with 1.37. Key to that has been the defensive set-up, as they’ve given away only 10.1 deaths per game, which is the lowest of any side in the league.
Bot laner, Patrik, has been the pick of the bunch. He has averaged 4.23 kills, 2.2 deaths, 4.83 assists with a KDA of 4.12 this year. But this isn’t a case of one player improving leaps and bounds. A lot of credit has to go to the coaching and the members of the roster for improving their performances so quickly and looking like a real team. They’ll be highly encouraged to go further in the playoffs this time around.

It does not look like SK Gaming will be able to produce another upset, my money would still be on Excel Esports.
