Sentinels have officially announced that they have signed Eric “Kanpeki” Xu to replace Jared “zombs” Gitlin for the upcoming North American Stage 2: Challengers event.

Kanpeki previously represented Akrew, a solid tier 2 North American Valorant team which has developed many young talents in the Valorant scene. Although they performed well during the 2022 VCT season, they could not qualify for the main Challengers event after losing to The Guard and Built By Gamers in the open qualifiers.
Sentinels go into the North American Stage 2: Challengers event with something to prove after their disappointing run in the first stage of the 2022 season. After failing to qualify for Masters Reykjavik 2022, Sentinels are looking to reclaim their winning form with the addition of Kanepki to the active roster. It was only a year ago when many crowned Sentinels as the best team globally, and a roster change was expected to put them back on the right track.
The addition of Kanpeki is only the second roster change in the team’s history since they acquired Tyson “TenZ” Ngo from Cloud9 to replace Jay “sinatraa” Won over a year ago.
