Rogue began the season with two losses in a row, but have looked a completely different outfit since then, having won all seven of their matches since. Even the anomaly that was game week 4 didn’t come close to either rushing or troubling Rogue, who went on in their merry way to beat Team Vitality and Team BDS.
They’ll take on Fnatic, who had a great start to the tournament and were tied on win percentage with Rogue until last week, when they lost to Misfits Gaming and Team Vitality to slip down the table, although they’re still tied in third spot with the three other teams that currently hold playoff positions.
Rogue vs Fnatic Match Prediction
Rogue
Rogue’s loss to G2 in the spring finals might still be playing on their minds, and it has certainly been showing in the tournament. Interestingly, they began this season with two losses while at the same time, G2 won three in a row. Since then, the two teams’ fortunes have been polar opposites and if the LEC summer season were to end today, not many would debate the fact that Rogue are the team that have most looked like champions.
In game week 4, they had a staggering 10.5 towers killed metric – their overall towers killed metric this season is 8.2 – and a gold per minute stat of 2037, with only SK Gaming being anywhere near them at 1907. They also lost only one tower across tw games, and averaged 4 deaths per game last week. In simple words, they’re firing on all cylinders. Attack, defense, economy – they have it all figured out and are now at a point where even five wins from their remaining games might be enough to put them in the playoffs.
Fnatic
Fnatic will have been kicking themselves after last week’s results, because they are now under immense pressure over the next two weeks to win more than they lose. They’re tied in third place with three other teams, but have to take on Rogue and a wounded Excel Esports this week, followed by a game against MAD Lions the next week. All three of these games are going to be extremely difficult ones that will offer very little margin for error. If they, say, lost two of these three fixtures, things could spin out of control for them very quickly in the playoffs race.
Having said that, their underlying metrics are still in decent shape: their gold differential at 15 min is at +477, they win 80% of their games when they’re ahead at the 15-minute mark, and are doing a damage per minute of 2285 so far.

It might not be completely one-sided, but Rogue should be able to seal an eighth win in a row with this fixture.
