As competitive integrity remains the main priority for the players and the event organizers when it comes to competitive FPS titles, Riot Games once again take another step forward enforcing it.
If you’ve been following the scene for a while, you might remember the great Counter-Strike: Global Offensive coaching controversy that was caused by an unfortunate bug with the game’s spectate and replay system. With multiple high-profile teams exploiting the issue for months at an end in order to gain an unfair advantage, it is unfortunate that many participants valued their victories more than sportsmanship.
With that precedent in mind, Riot Games have allegedly went ahead with a plan to take the scene’s integrity even further: from now on, the coaches of participant-teams will be forbidden to tune into the official broadcasts of their team’s games.
Coaches/players are now prohibited from watching the official broadcast of a match during the game.

While the rule serves to uphold the scene’s integrity, it’s unclear if and how it will be enforced. Many fans have expressed their confusion as to how it is even possible for smaller events. It seems this ruleset is aimed at the highest, offline stages of the competitive circuit.
