Trent Alexander-Arnold could be ready to return to Anfield on 4 November
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s rehabilitation is progressing well and there is a realistic chance the Real Madrid right-back will be fit to face his former club, Liverpool, in the Champions League tie on 4 November.
The 27-year-old suffered a hamstring injury against French side Marseille on 16 September and was forced off after just five minutes.
Initial reports suggested he could be sidelined for up to six weeks. The visit to Anfield falls seven weeks after the injury, and BBC Sport sources say recovery is on track with an eye on that date.
Alexander-Arnold joined Los Blancos in June. Since moving to Spain he has made five appearances across all competitions, totalling 156 minutes of action.
He remains a lifelong Liverpool supporter and left the club he joined at the age of six in what he described as a difficult decision.
During his time with Liverpool Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances and helped the club win two Premier League titles, a Champions League and the FA Cup.
Real and Liverpool meet in the Champions League group stage on 4 November. Medical staff at Madrid will continue to monitor the England international but the timeline gives him a chance to be involved at Anfield.
