Natus Vincere makes a major move into League of Legends, ending Rogue’s tenure in the LEC.
A New Chapter for the LEC
The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is set for a seismic shift. According to sources from Sheep Esports, the iconic Ukrainian esports organization Natus Vincere (NAVI) is poised to take over Rogue’s slot beginning with the 2025 Summer Split.
The official announcement is expected at the conclusion of the current split, with details surrounding Rogue’s players and coaching staff still under wraps.
The End of Rogue’s Era
Rogue’s exit marks the end of a prolonged saga that began in November 2023 when Team Falcons attempted—and failed—to secure the LEC spot due to Riot Games’ rejection. Another effort by Nigma in late 2024 also fell through. Now, NAVI steps in as the chosen successor.
Once a dominant force in the EMEA circuit and the 2022 Summer Split champions, Rogue’s form has declined dramatically. Despite a roster featuring Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong and Emil “Larssen” Larsson, the team finished last in both Winter and Spring 2025, following a dismal 2024 season.

Why NAVI Matters
NAVI’s name may not yet resonate with traditional LoL fans, but in the broader esports universe, it’s a juggernaut. Founded in 2009, NAVI built its legacy in Counter-Strike, dominating global rankings and clinching high-profile victories such as the 2024 Esports World Cup and Copenhagen Major.
Their golden era peaked in 2021 with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev—a CS:GO legend—leading them to a Stockholm Major title and an Intel Grand Slam.
A Multi-Title Powerhouse
NAVI’s influence spans across esports, with competitive teams in VALORANT, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Apex Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Dota 2. Their Dota team etched its name in history by winning the inaugural The International in 2011.
Return to the Rift
Interestingly, this isn’t NAVI’s first venture into League of Legends. The organization previously competed in the now-defunct LCL (Russian regional league), withdrawing in 2017. Their return via the LEC represents a bold comeback—this time on the grandest stage in the EMEA region.
With this move, NAVI becomes the first new LEC addition since Karmine Corp replaced Astralis in early 2024. Their arrival signals not just a fresh start but a potential revitalization of competition at the top level of European League of Legends.
Looking Ahead
While many questions remain—particularly about Rogue’s roster—the anticipation surrounding NAVI’s debut is undeniable. As one chapter closes, another begins. LEC fans, prepare for an electrifying Summer Split.
