The playoffs are not that far, so the next couple of games will be decisive to see which teams make it to the playoffs, and how the seeding will turn out.

Fredit BRION vs DRX and Nongshim RedForce vs DWG KIA were the matches on day 1, with T1 vs Kwangdong Freecs and KT Rolster vs Hanwha Life being the matches for day 2.

Let’s get right into the prediction of Liiv SANDBOX vs Gen.G without further ado.

Liiv SANDBOX vs Gen.G is a candidate for match of the week since both teams have been showing a great level as of late.

Coming into this match Gen.G is still seen as the heavy favorite and with good reasons.

The Korean super team was created to dominate the LCK, and despite being far from doing that in the first Split, right now they fight with their long-term rivals T1 for supremacy in the Korean League of Legends scene.

With a spectacular record of 9-1, with their only loss so far coming at the hands of T1, Gen.G looks to continue their dominant run.

In the early game Gen.G is the best team in the league, with an amazing average gold lead of 2k at the 15-minute mark, and a +366 gold differential per minute, also the highest in the league.

Their first tower percentage is 77.3%, and the first blood rate is similar at 72.7%.

Another great stat that Gen.G have is their kills/deaths per game, with an amazing average of 13 kills and only 6 deaths per game.

To sum it up Gen.G early game is just amazing. They find a lot of advantages in the laning phase since they have very talented players in all the lanes.

Peanut early game impact is also crucial, with him being able to find a lot of successful ganks.

Drake control is also something the team excels at and allows them to create another advantage that doesn’t really show up in the gold lead.

However, it’s not only Gen.G early game that is great, the way they play in the mid-game, using their vision to find picks, playing the map in a very smart way, and always finding cross-map plays, its what make them even more dangerous as a team.

In team fights, you can expect a clean execution by them, especially Ruler who is normally the late game insurance of the team and lately has been stellar in team fights situations.

Chovy is still the reliable carry everyone knows, but now he actually finds a lot of impact with his roaming, and it’s not just a “win lane” mid laner per se.

As for Liiv SANDBOX  they are a very good team, and it’s safe to say they are the surprise team of this Summer Split.

Liiv SANDBOX already proved they can match Gen.G in the early game, as they did so in game two in the first series both teams faced each other this Split.

Their early game stats however aren’t anywhere close to Gen.G ones. The team has an average gold deficit of 419 in the early game, which is not that bad, but compared to Gen.G stats it’s not good.

When it comes to their first tower percentage they have 59.1%, and 54.5% in the first blood department.

By looking at these stats you might ask yourself  “well with these stats it’s impressive they managed to win an early game in a convincing way versus Gen.G, I would have thought they would be smashed”.

Well, you are not wrong, because in game 1 of that series Gen.G stomped Liiv SANDBOX in the early game ending the game at under 20 minutes, yes you read it right under 20 minutes.

So in a normal scenario, Gen.G should win the early game in a convincing way, and then eventually close out the game.

Even if Liiv SANDBOX manage to win the early game, like they already did, there aren’t any guarantees they won’t throw the game by taking bad decisions when it comes to team fighting, just as they did in game two allowing Gen.G a way back into the game.

This can be a very interesting series, and Liiv SANDBOX certainly has the tools to make it so. But I think Gen.G will just be too much for Liiv SANDBOX to handle.

Even when they had an almost unlosable game they still managed to lose that game, and Gen.G showed they are also very good at playing from behind.

Gen.G and T1 are just in a league of their own right now, and despite how much I like Liiv SANDBOX I think the team still needs to improve in order to be able to defeat a team like Gen.G.
