Juventus Agree Deal to Make Vicario's Move From Tottenham Permanent

Juventus are set to trigger their option to sign Guglielmo Vicario on a permanent basis next summer, with the goalkeeper’s early form at the Allianz Stadium sealing the decision.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport via Calciomercato, Vicario’s displays in the opening weeks of the 2026/27 campaign have convinced Juventus to pursue a permanent transfer once the current loan expires.

The report states that the Serie A club have already decided to exercise the redemption clause, set at €8 million, to complete the deal. Vicario has separately reached an agreement over personal terms for a three-year contract that would run until June 30, 2030.

Vicario’s Career Path Since Leaving Empoli

Vicario joined Tottenham Hotspur from Empoli in a €20 million deal in July 2023. The 29-year-old delivered several standout performances across three seasons in North London, but errors crept into his game, with the problems growing more frequent over the last 18 months.

The Italian international made over 100 appearances for Spurs, recording 29 clean sheets while conceding 170 goals. His long-term future at the club became uncertain following a poor 2025/26 season. With Roberto De Zerbi sanctioning his exit, Vicario moved to Juventus on loan.

A First-Choice Role at the Allianz Stadium

Vicario has impressed early in the new campaign, conceding just four goals and keeping three clean sheets across five Serie A appearances. He has claimed the number one jersey after Juventus sold Mattia Perin to Palermo and loaned Michele Di Gregorio to Bournemouth.

Kamil Grabara also arrived on loan in the summer, but an ACL rupture has ended his season. Juventus are reportedly weighing a move for Neto as cover. Lorenzo Palmisani remains on the club’s radar too, per Calciomercato, though Vicario’s form has been strong enough to secure the permanent switch.
