Two teams with identical records will face each other in the second round of this weekend’s LCS games. Both Golden Guardians and Cloud9 have won four of their nine matches to date in the summer of the 2022 LCS. Cloud9 will have to find a way to get out of their funk that they find themselves in presently. A win against GG will also help distance themselves from another strong playoffs contender.

As you would expect from a team that has a negative kill to death record, GG also have a negative kill to death ratio, which basically means that they average more deaths than kills. That kill to death ratio is 0.88, built on 10.1 kills and 11.6 deaths per game. That death rate needs to come down quickly for the team to continue to build.
Most of their other metrics also lie in and around the halfway mark, such as first blood rate of 44.4 percent, towers destroy to towers lost ratio (5.9 towers destroyed to 6.1 towers lost) and their first tower percentage of 55.6. While these are not poor numbers, they do show that GG will continue lie in this area in the LCS summer standings unless they can find some of their best form quickly.
In terms of personnel, GG will need at least one or two players to pick up their kill rates. Licorice, a former Cloud9 player, has averaged quite a stunning 2.44 kills per game from the top lane, which is second highest in his team. Mid laner Ablazeolive presently has the most kills, including returns of 2.56 kills, 2.89 deaths and 4.33 assists per map at a KDA of 2.38 and a creep score of 284.11.

Cloud9 have not quite hit their own lofty levels yet this split, which is a bit concerning considering how deep their roster it across most positions inside Summoner’s Rift. Mid laner Jensen has been solid with a KDA of 2.95 but there is more expected from a player of his quality.
Fudge has the team’s highest KDA for any player that has played all matches this season, with returns of 2.67 kills, 1.67 deaths, 3.89 assists and a KDA of 3.93 with a creep score of 315. More work to do for the rest of the team though.
