Dota Reshuffles: Topson goes inactive, Vici Gaming presents new roster

19.11.2021, 15:25

Professional Dota 2 continues its streak of reshuffles ahead of the upcoming DPC season. Several more teams have announced transfers and registration of their lineups in the DPC system.

Topson will miss DPC season 2021-2022

OG player Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen announced that he is going inactive. Thus, the player will miss the entire DPC season 2021-2022 and The International 2022.

Topias announced the decision on his Discord channel, answering questions from fans. Topson noted that he will focus on spending time with family and friends during his inactivity.

I’m not gonna be competing next season. I’m gonna spend time with my family and friends and have some hobbies that I’ve been wanting to do and having some other stuff than Dota.

Topson assured that he’s only missing one season, not ending his career, like Ceb, for example. Now the only active player left in the OG is Johan “N0tail” Sundstein. At this point it is unknown if Johan will stay with the reformed team or if he will also go inactive or end his career. Perhaps we should expect N0tail as a coach.

Vici Gaming have unveiled their new roster

The Chinese organization Vici Gaming has revealed the new roster to a wider audience. As expected, only poyoyo will remain from the old roster. On the midlane will play Xm, who showed quality and confident game on his lane, but could not find a suitable team. Two players came from CDEC Gaming, and the last player came from the little-known team LBZS, which played in the second division of China.

Taiga left Team Liquid

Fourth position player Tommy “Taiga” Lee has left Team Liquid. The organization announced it on its official Twitter.

Taiga also wrote some words about his parting ways with Team Liquid:

It’s hard to split up with close friends and and team whom I have been with for more than 4 years. Team Liquid has been a family to me and I’m honored to have represented you guys  I got nothing else to say than wishes my great brothers and team the very best

At the same time, Boxi registered with the DPC system on Team Liquid’s roster. Samuel became Team Liquid’s fifth player, but that still doesn’t solve the problem of having two offlaners in the team.

Yes, zai has played position four before, but Boxi received a lot of criticism against him during the last DPC season. Rumors that Save- might become soft support for Team Liquid are actively circulating on the net, but there is no official information about it yet.

If Team Liquid finds a player for the fourth position, Boxi will become the second official backup in the WEU region. What role MATUMBAMAN will play is also unknown at this point.

Team Liquid roster

  •   Michael “miCKe” Vu
  •   Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
  •   Aydin “iNSaNiA” Sarkohi
  •   Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen
  •   Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg

Roster lock starts on November 21, which means we will see a lot of announcements, especially from Chinese teams, who haven’t had time to show their lineups for DPC season 2021-2022 yet.
