It’s been a long, perhaps restful break for everyone involved in the LCS, but things won’t stay quite as calm for Dignitas as they take on Evil Geniuses to resume their summer campaign. They’re currently camped at 8th place, tied with TSM, and a win rate of just 28.3%. They’ve been the team with the lowest gold per minute metric this season – 1712 – while Evil Geniuses are far ahead of the pack with 1936 in the same metric. While Dignitas do have a desirably low deaths per game average of 9.9, their conservative style hasn’t translated into success so far.

Dignitas had an underwhelming campaign last time out, winning only eight games and ultimately failing to make it to the playoffs but the start to this season looks a lot worse. They’ve only won two matches and lost five already. Next up is a match against the Spring Season champions, which could make it six losses for the season.
They’ve got a KD ratio of 0.86 at the moment, which sums up their troubles. It doesn’t help that they also lost both their matches to Evil Geniuses last time out. They’ll need the likes of the bot laner, Neo, to put on a show if they want to get something from this game. He has averaged 3.24 kills, 2.03 deaths, 3.33 assists and a KDA of 3.24.
Evil Geniuses
Evil Geniuses have taken their winning momentum into the new season and currently sit at the top of the standings with six wins and only one loss. They are currently tied for the highest KD ratio with Team Liquid at 1.78. They weren’t in such hot form in the league last season, so there’s a good chance that they’ll be even harder to beat this time around. Last season, they won nine of their 18 games in the league before powering through the playoffs.
Things couldn’t get much worse for a Dignitas side that are desperate for a win. Bot laner, Danny, has looked very good all year. He has averaged 4.77 kills, 1.96 deaths, 5.05 assists and 5.01 KDA. If he’s half as good as his stats predict he will be, Evil Geniuses should not have much troubled heading into this one.

There’s quite clearly only one winner in this match. I can’t see a big upset on the cards here. Evil Geniuses are in excellent form, somehow looking better, than last year and Diginitas are spiraling. This is one of the safer bets.
