Chelsea Targets Sunderland Stopper
Chelsea has reportedly set its sights on Sunderland’s 23-year-old Dutch goalkeeper, Robin Roefs, as they look to bolster their squad and address inconsistencies in their current goalkeeping department.
Roefs joined the Black Cats from NEC Nijmegen last summer and has since emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout performers. His impressive form has been a key factor in Sunderland’s mid-table position following their return to the top flight.

The young shot-stopper has recorded eight clean sheets in 28 league appearances, drawing significant attention from several clubs across Europe. His consistent displays have not gone unnoticed, with many considering him a hot prospect.
Chelsea’s Keen Interest
Current Chelsea preferred goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, has struggled with consistency, prompting the London club to seek a potential upgrade. Blues’ scouts have been thoroughly impressed with Roefs’ abilities, viewing him as an ideal fit for their long-term project. They believe he possesses the potential to play for a Champions League-level club.

Despite significant competition for his signature and Sunderland’s valuation of around £50 million, Chelsea remains determined to pursue Roefs, suggesting a serious intent to secure his services.
