Following the international break, Europe’s top leagues are back in action. It’s after such pauses that we often see major upsets. Additionally, the Champions League returns midweek, forcing coaches of participating clubs to carefully manage the balance of their squads. So, what should we be looking for when placing bets this weekend?
Brentford vs Chelsea
In the fourth round of the English Premier League, Brentford will host London’s Chelsea, who are scheduled to play a Champions League match against Bayern in Munich just four days later.
During the offseason, the Bees underwent significant changes — head coach Thomas Frank left the team, as did a number of key players, including Wissa, Mbeumo, Nørgaard, and others. Even before the start of the new season, the team was predicted to be in a relegation battle.
The Blues’ great squad depth allows them to compete on two fronts. Although surprises often happen after an international break, I don’t expect one in this match.

Atlético Madrid vs Villarreal
The Estádio Cívitas Metropolitano will host the central match of the fourth round of La Liga.
Both teams represent their championship in Europe’s most prestigious club tournament — the Champions League.
The start of the season has been difficult for Atlético. In three rounds, the team has only earned two points — and that’s against opponents who, at least before the season began, were predicted to finish in the bottom half of the table. Consequently, the performance of Simeone’s squad raises many questions. Perhaps after the international break, the Rojiblancos will be able to improve?
Villarreal had a much more confident start to their campaign: the team is currently in third place, having scored the most goals in the league (8) and conceded only one. However, it’s worth remembering that this is just the beginning of the season, and the Yellow Submarine’s opponents have not been top-tier.
Betting Tip: Atlético to win by 1 goal or draw – 1.77

Juventus vs Inter
One of Italy’s most fiercely contested matches will take place in just the third round of Serie A.
In the first two rounds, Juventus secured two clean-sheet victories against opponents who are hardly among the strongest in the league. Despite offseason rumors, Igor Tudor, who took over the Bianconeri in March after Thiago Motta’s resignation, remains the team’s head coach.
The Nerazzurri have started a new chapter — after four years under Inzaghi, the team is now led by Cristian Chivu, who saved Parma from relegation from Serie A at the end of last season. The team is still adjusting to the demands of the new coach, so the stability they had under their previous manager is currently absent.
Both teams will play their first Champions League matches this week. We can expect a no-holds-barred battle until the final whistle. A draw seems the most likely outcome, and as a bet, I suggest choosing both teams to score.

Brest vs Paris FC
Two of the most entertaining teams of the first three rounds will face off. A total of 12 goals were scored in the Pirates’ matches (an average of 4 per game), while their opponent, Paris FC, has seen 13 goals in their games.
Both teams have yet to find the optimal balance between attack and defense. As a result, despite their spectacular play, Brest and Paris FC are in 17th and 16th place, respectively.
I don’t think the situation will change drastically immediately after the break. I suggest betting on both teams to score and that the more experienced Ligue 1 hosts won’t lose to this year’s top-flight newcomer.
Betting Tip: Double Chance Brest (1X) + both teams to score – yes – 2.14
