City’s defensive struggles could also play a role here – key center-backs Akanji and Stones are unavailable, meaning rookie Housenov and the less match-fit Nathan Aké will step in. Braga fell just one goal short of securing a Europa League playoff spot, while Porto has already left the competition. Both teams have also been eliminated from their domestic cup runs.
On the one hand, that’s disappointing. On the other, it allows both sides to focus entirely on the Primeira Liga, free from distractions. The top four is incredibly tight right now, with just six points separating first from fourth, making every point crucial. Braga may have exited Europe early, but their recent home form has been solid. Carlos Carvalhal’s men have scored just once in their last five matches at home, and they’ve won six of their last eight overall. That consistency is why they remain in contention with Portugal’s “Big Three” for the title and a medal finish.

Porto, under new boss Martín Anselmi, has won just three of eight games. That’s far from convincing, and with their European campaign over, fans are now demanding results in the league—especially a Champions League spot for next season.

Considering Porto’s internal struggles and the management situation under André Villas-Boas, backing Braga to avoid defeat at home, backed by their passionate twelfth man, seems like the logical bet.

This weekend’s battle is between two teams that have a solid chance of securing such a place in the table. Freiburg are excellent at home and rank third in the league based on home performances.

Marco Rose’s Leipzig have mostly disappointed this season – an absolute disaster in the UCL and a generally underwhelming domestic campaign.
I’m leaning towards a Freiburg (0) handicap, which, in my opinion, has a strong chance of coming through, especially considering a potential squad return.

A golden opportunity to solidify a top-two finish and secure Ligue 1 promotion is on the line in this match. If Lorient wins, they’ll create a 5-6 point cushion over the chasing pack. Meanwhile, Paris FC can draw level with Les Merlus and ensure they don’t slip to third place, which doesn’t guarantee direct promotion to the French top flight. What can we say about these teams? They don’t lose. Paris FC has won four straight at home, while Lorient has claimed three consecutive away victories. Expect attacking football from both sides, but given their solid defensive setups, we’re more likely to see plenty of corners rather than a goal fest.

When Niko Kovač was at Wolfsburg and faced Augsburg’s Thorup, both games turned into goal fests, with 4 and 5 goals scored respectively.

Celta have lost only three times this season at Balaídos, furthemore – only by the narrowest of margins to teams from the top spots of the table. Their away form, however, remains a weak link for Giráldez’s side.
Leganés are deeply embroiled in the relegation battle. In their last meeting, the Pepineros ran riot, winning 3-0.

This time, I think Celta will take their revenge for that setback.

At the moment, Juventus are the most in-form team in the league. Atalanta, on the other hand, have been the best away side this season in terms of points collected.This will likely be a cautious game.

Juventus are my favorites in this matchup, although I see a draw as the most likely result. That said, I’d take a shot at one of my favorite bets here:

Madrid spent a lot of energy against Atlético and will have to dig even deeper for the second leg at the Metropolitano. So, in La Liga, Ancelotti will likely rotate and preserve his key players. Yes, even Real’s second-string squad should be able to see off most La Liga sides, but it’s not that simple.

Rayo have been fighting tooth and nail against every opponent this season. Maybe it’s their desire to mark the club’s 100th anniversary in 2024 with a memorable campaign, maybe something else – but the fact remains: no team has had an easy time against them.

They’ve only lost twice this season by more than a one-goal margin. Fun fact: Madrid themselves have suffered more such defeats!

These are exactly the kind of matches where they need to prove their ambitions. The Eagles boast the 4th-best defense in Ligue 1, and at home, they have the best defensive record in the entire league. Lyon, on the other hand, are still searching for consistency under Fonseca. Also, their Thursday Europa League clash will surely take a toll on their freshness.

The Côte d’Azur side are favorites for this matchup, though I don’t expect it to be an easy one. My options for this game:
