Athletic Club vs Manchester United – 01.05.2025

In my opinion, this is the match that’s likely to decide not only the finalist but also the eventual Europa League winner. And, just like I mentioned in the previous preview — the team to watch is none other than Athletic Club from Bilbao.

They’ve got a manager who’s been leading the squad for nearly three years now, and the team continues to deliver consistent performances. Compared to United, the Spanish side clearly looks more cohesive — their players are more in sync, and they function better as a collective unit on the pitch.

Playing at home – which, by the way, is also the venue for this year’s final — the “Lions” have lost only twice this season across all competitions. Motivation? Through the roof. For the Basques, this is a chance to win their first continental trophy in club history.

As for Manchester United, led by Rúben Amorim, yes – the future might look brighter next season, but right now, this feels more like a gamble than a plan. Remember their clash with Lyon? A chaotic game that ended with a 2-goal comeback and a last-minute winner in extra time. Impressive? Sure. But luck is a fleeting thing, and it likely won’t be enough against a team as solid as Bilbao.

The Red Devils are extremely motivated – no doubt about that. But it’s not just about the trophy itself (they’ve already got one of those). It’s about what winning it leads to – a ticket to next season’s Champions League and a somewhat a bright moment for an otherwise disappointing campaign.

My Prediction
I’m backing Athletic to win the first leg at home by 1 or 2 goals – @2.4 (odds via N1Bet).
An alternative bet worth considering is Athletic to win the corner count with a -1.5 to -2.5 handicap, or simply over 4.5–5 total corners for the Basques.

And in the second leg? They’ll defend their home victory and ultimately book a spot in the final — where, as I’ve said time and time again, they’ll go on to lift the trophy.

To Qualify: Athletic – @2.02 (odds via N1Bet)

Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt – 01.05.2025

In a tough battle, but still – the English side managed to pull through. Right now, Spurs have literally nothing left to play for in the Premier League, except maybe scraping a few extra prize money spots by finishing slightly higher in the table. Naturally, then – all focus shifts to the Europa League.

As for the Norwegians – they’ve become the breakout sensation of this season in Europe, smashing their own record by reaching the semi-finals. Fun fact: the stadium where they’ll play the first leg can fit 1.5 times the population of their home city. That really highlights how far Bodø/Glimt have come this season.

Of course, the English are clear favorites here. The quality gap between the squads is obvious. But let’s not forget – Bodø/Glimt have already faced stronger sides this season, and not only gave them a fight but actually knocked a few of them out. This Scandinavian squad isn’t just about individual talent – they’re a proper team, built over the years.

My Prediction
I won’t surprise anyone – Spurs will go through @1.23 (odds via N1Bet)

In the first leg, the visitors will likely aim to concede as few as possible, and might even snatch a goal themselves, especially considering Tottenham’s ongoing defensive issues.

Both Teams to Score – Yes @1.89 (odds via N1Bet)

In the second leg, the Norwegians will go all-out attack, and they should win the corner count with a negative handicap.
