Tottenham Ready to Take £13.1m Hit as Udogie Exit Door Swings Open

Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly accept a fee close to €15m (£12.8m) for Juventus-linked left-back Destiny Udogie, a dramatic drop from the figure Spurs were quoting just months ago.

The Italy international has struggled for consistency in North London over the past couple of seasons, largely due to a run of injury problems that has disrupted his development at Tottenham Hotspur.

Udogie has missed 56 matches for club and country since arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2023, and the 23-year-old has made just one Premier League start this season, in the 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on September 5.

He lasted only 61 minutes of that contest before suffering another minor injury, which ruled him out of the goalless stalemate with Everton. He was then left as an unused substitute in the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa before the international break.

The signing of Premier League and Champions League winner Andrew Robertson has further hampered Udogie’s path back into the side. He has also failed to earn an Italy call-up since October 2025.

Tottenham prepared to take Destiny Udogie transfer hit?

The defender remains under contract at Tottenham until 2030, having signed an extension in December 2023, but his long-term future is now in question given his lack of starts.

According to Corriere dello Sport, via JuveFC, Juventus have taken a keen interest in Udogie. Tottenham have opened the door to selling the left-back and are prepared to accept a reduced transfer fee.

The Lilywhites paid €18m (£15.3m) to sign the left-back from Udinese in 2022, and he is now valued at €30m (£25.5m), according to Transfermarkt.

The report states that £12.8m, a decrease of £2.5m on the valuation figure, could be enough to prise Udogie away from North London. His ‘book value’ has reportedly dropped as low as €7m (£6m) to €9m (£7.7m).

Back in June, reports claimed Tottenham wanted £25.9m to sell Udogie, but Spurs have since slashed their asking price by as much as £13.1m.

Udogie has scored two goals and provided five assists in 99 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions. He was a key figure in their 2024-25 Europa League-winning campaign, playing the full 90 minutes in each of the final four games of that run.

Does Destiny Udogie have a future at Tottenham?

After a loan spell back at Udinese for the 2022-23 season, Udogie quickly established himself as a fixture in the Tottenham first XI under Ange Postecoglou during the Australian’s early spell in charge.

He made 28 Premier League starts in 2023-24, contributing two goals and three assists, performances strong enough to earn him a contract extension running until he turns 27.

Recurring fitness issues have since stalled that momentum, and Roberto De Zerbi has so far leaned on Robertson’s experience and reliability at left-back.

Tottenham also have Souza due back from his loan at Porto next summer, though the Brazilian still lacks top-level experience and has yet to make his debut for the Portuguese side.

Allowing Udogie to leave in January, barring an exceptional offer, would be premature on Tottenham’s part. The second half of the season may prove decisive for the defender’s future at the club.
