Tottenham have made an initial approach for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, proposing an opening bid of £50-55 million, per Caught Offside. Manchester United and Chelsea are also circling the Nigerian international, adding pressure to any deal Spurs hope to complete.

Osimhen carried his prolific form from Napoli directly into Turkish football, scoring 59 goals and contributing 16 assists across 74 official matches over two seasons at Galatasaray. The Turkish club has been clear: negotiations only begin if Osimhen requests a transfer and any suitor meets their asking price.

De Zerbi’s Striker Blueprint

Spurs moved efficiently earlier this summer to strengthen midfield and defence. Attention has since shifted to the attacking setup. Roberto De Zerbi wants a striker capable of leading a possession-heavy system while pressing high, a profile that maps closely onto what Osimhen has demonstrated in Istanbul.

Reported interest in Bournemouth‘s Eli Junior Kroupi stalled after the Frenchman suffered a long-term foot injury that will sideline him for several months. Nicolo Tresoldi emerged as another alternative before Spurs turned their focus to Osimhen with a concrete opening approach.

Galatasaray’s Valuation and the Rivals in the Room

Galatasaray are understood to be holding firm at a minimum of £65 million, leaving Tottenham’s £50-55 million proposal well short. The presence of Manchester United and Chelsea gives the Turkish club leverage to push that figure even higher, and they are unlikely to soften their stance while multiple Premier League clubs remain in the picture.

Osimhen is reportedly open to a Premier League move, which keeps Tottenham’s approach alive. Manchester United’s interest is tied to ongoing uncertainty over Joshua Zirkzee’s long-term future at Old Trafford rather than a genuine first-choice striker need. Chelsea’s long-standing admiration for Osimhen is complicated by the recent arrival of Danny Welbeck, leaving their intentions unclear.

Where the Transfer Stands

Neither rival appears positioned to mount a serious, immediate challenge. That leaves Tottenham with the clearest path to the player, provided they can close the gap between their opening bid and Galatasaray’s asking price. Bridging that valuation difference is the central obstacle, and how Spurs respond to it will determine whether this move progresses before the window closes.
