T1 has a successful start to the 2022 season as they managed to do the unthinkable and ended the Spring Split with an 18-0 record. The first team in LCK history to finish with an undefeated regular-season record. With this, T1’s support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok became the first support player to earn the regular-season MVP award, while the rest of the roster earned LCK All-Pro First Team and Second Team honors. In the playoffs, T1 cemented their domestic dominance after sweeping Kwangdong Freecs and defeating Gen.G 3-1 in the Grand Finals.
T1 entered MSI 2022 as the heavy favorite, and many expected the Korean powerhouse to lift their first international title since MSI 2017. Despite the lofty expectations, T1 faltered against G2 Esports and RNG, losing for the first time in 2022 during the Rumble Stage of the tournament. In the Knockout Stage, T1 dismantled G2 Esports 3-0 and played against RNG in the Grand Finals. Unfortunately, T1 would lose their first Bo5 series of 2022 and earned a second-place finish at MSI 2022.
T1 entered the 2022 LCK Summer Season as the returning favorite to lift the LCK title again. After notching wins against Nongshim Redforce, KT Rolster, Liiv Sandbox, and DWG KIA, T1 is preparing to make a run for another undefeated season and extend their domestic win record. If their streak continues, T1 may be on the path to winning their 11th LCK title and 4th World Championship title.
