The famous soccer player, FC Barcelona defender Gerard Pique bought a League Of Legends team. Pique bought the team with the Spanish squad Astralis Stormbringers for €300,000. Astralis SB play in the Spanish national league for League of Legends. The team under the Astralis banner was recently assembled in March 2021. During this time, the team managed to play just two tournaments: SuperLiga 2022 – Promotion and Iberian Cup 2021.
By the way, Pike bought the team together with the streamer Ibay Llanos. The streamer communicates with famous soccer players and even held a joint broadcast with the legendary Lionel Messi.

The team has not yet introduced a new name and logo to viewers, but that should happen in the foreseeable future. Pique’s media and financial support could be the impetus for the development of the local Spanish League of Legends scene in the region.
