Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has shed light on Arsenal’s potential transfer targets for the upcoming summer window. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano indicated that the Gunners will prioritize strengthening three key areas, though specific names remain under wraps for now.

It’s entirely logical that Mikel Arteta’s side is already laying the groundwork for summer acquisitions, aiming to bolster the squad with both quality and depth in crucial positions.

“I want to start with Arsenal … in the background there are always talks, always discussions and always things happening,” Romano stated.

“One thing I can guarantee is that Arsenal will work on eventually midfielders in the summer. We know for example some of the names, some of the options they already considered in January … so Arsenal are looking at some options.”

Midfield Reinforcements a Certainty

A new central midfielder is firmly on Arsenal’s agenda. This follows their pursuit of various options during the January window, signaling an ongoing need to reinforce the core of their team.

While specific targets were not named, Arsenal has previously shown interest in young talents. One such player is Wolves’ Mateus Mane, a talented teenager. However, reports suggest Liverpool may currently hold the advantage in the race for his signature.

Underrated Focus: Right-Back Depth

Beyond the obvious need for midfield reinforcements, Romano highlighted a potentially overlooked area that Arsenal plans to address: a younger right-back.

“But I can tell you that one of the priorities in the summer transfer window for Arsenal, I think a bit underrated in this moment, in terms of media, could be also to add a younger right-back to the squad.”

This suggests Arteta is keen to develop future options in defense and provide competition for established players.

Attacking Flair: A New Winger

Finally, Arsenal is set to be active in the market for a new winger. This move could inject fresh attacking impetus into the squad and offer tactical versatility to Mikel Arteta’s offensive strategies.

“So Arsenal are also considering the possibility to do something not just in midfield, but could be also at right-back position and also on the winger position. So Arsenal are going to be active in the summer transfer window.”

A potential name to watch in the winger position is Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon. After another strong season, Gordon’s dynamic play could offer Arsenal a different dimension in their front three.

While no definitive names were confirmed for all three positions, Romano’s insights suggest a clear strategic approach from Arsenal as they prepare for a busy summer transfer period, aiming to build on their recent performances and compete at the highest level.
