Royal Never Give Up has announced that they have swapped their top laner Chen “Bin” Ze-bin for Bilibili Gaming’s top laner Chen “Breathe” Chen.

EDward GamingHeading into summer, we’re going in with Breathe as our new top laner. There’s still a long road to Worlds but we hope that together the team can continue to be a title contender! #RNGWIN pic.twitter.com/oTD5Xuis0I

Bin was integral to Suning’s 2020 World Championship second-place finish after dominating the top-lane meta, leading his team to the Grand Finals, where he would lose to DAMWON Gaming 3-1. Bin continued to showcase himself as one of the strongest top laners in the LPL, but his team would struggle throughout the 2021 Spring and Summer season. Bin and Suning would fail to qualify for both international tournaments after finishing fifth and ninth in the Spring and Summer playoffs. Bin joined Royal Never Give Up after departing the recently rebranded Weibo Gaming (formerly known as Suning), replacing Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-hao as he moved back into the mid-lane position. This move proved to be a successful one as RNG finished second in the regular season. In the playoffs, RNG defeated JD Gaming in a five-game series and defeated Top Esports twice to earn their fourth LPL championship and represent China in MSI 2022.
Breathe departed Team WE after a one-year stint and joined Bilibili Gaming for the 2022 LPL Spring Season. Breathe would be a bright spot despite Bilibili Gaming’s inconsistentness throughout the Spring season; they would finish eighth place in the regular season. Bilibili Gaming would start their playoff run against the ninth-seeded Rare Atom, where they would win the series 3-1. Breathe and his team’s playoff run would end after Top Esports dismantled them in a four-game series.
It was only one split, but in our time together we managed to win LPL and MSI with you. Farewell Bin and good luck with @BilibiliGaming! pic.twitter.com/uLPenSbvFd

This roster change has shocked many as RNG has recently triumphed at MSI 2022 after taking down Korean powerhouse T1 in an intense five-game series, showcasing that the Chinese team is the strongest in the world. Only time will tell if this player swap will pay off for both teams as they head into the 2022 LPL Summer season.
Bilibili Gaming has already played its first regular-season game, which ended in defeat against LNG Esports. RNG will play their first game on Friday, June 17th, against FunPlus Pheonix.
With this player swap, RNG will field:
- Chen “Breathe” Chen
- Yan “Wei” Yang-wei
- Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-hao
- Chen “GALA” Wei
- Shi “Ming” Sen-ming
- Liu “Bunny” Wen-kang (Sub/Sup)
Bilibili Gaming is currently:
- Chen “Bin” Ze-bin
- Wei “Weiwei” Bo-han
- Chu “FoFo” Chun-lan
