Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, wrapping up one of the summer’s most pursued transfers after edging out rival clubs, including PSG, in the race for the Ivorian winger.
“Real Madrid and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Yan Diomande, who will be tied to our club for the next seven seasons, until June 30, 2033,” the club announced.
The fee was not officially disclosed, but the deal was closed at approximately 125 million euros plus 15 million in add-ons. Diomande had been a standout performer in the Bundesliga last season, arriving at Leipzig from Leganes just 12 months prior.
The Ivorian international attracted interest from several top European clubs, with Liverpool and PSG among those closely monitoring his situation. He had already reached a personal agreement with the French club, but Leipzig’s terms remained unresolved — and that gap gave Madrid the opening they needed.
Real Madrid moved decisively, secured their own agreement with Diomande, and collapsed the deal with PSG entirely.
Diomande is Madrid’s sixth signing of the summer window, joining Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries, and Carlos Espi in a sweeping squad overhaul. The club, which has gone two consecutive seasons without a major trophy, brought in Portuguese veteran Jose Mourinho for a second spell as coach to replace Alvaro Arbeloa.
Madrid have also been linked with a move for Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri as they continue reshaping their roster ahead of the new season.
