We think Sporting Gijon are the better bet here despite playing away. Racing Santander have been poor — four games without a win, three without scoring, and opponents of increasing quality have exposed them. Sporting arrive with two wins in three, fresh off a five-goal performance, and Larcamón’s side look sharper physically and tactically. The 1-2 scoreline in Sporting’s favour or a tight 0-1 both feel plausible. Home advantage at El Sardinero counts for something in a derby, and Racing might dig deep enough to keep it close, but backing them to win at 1.59 with their current form is not where the value sits. Sporting to win on the double chance market, combined with under 2.5 goals, is the approach we’d take for this one. Racing’s attack has been too quiet for too long to trust them to score freely, and Sporting’s defensive work has been solid enough to keep this a low-scoring affair.
