PSG’s Doué Crowned 2025 Golden Boy

Désiré Doué, the 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain star, has been named the 2025 Golden Boy by Tuttosport. The award ceremony will take place on December 1 in Turin. Doué follows Lamine Yamal, who won the trophy last year.

The Golden Boy award, established in 2003, has previously honored notable winners like Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, and Lionel Messi. The award is determined by a panel of 50 journalists who select the winner from a list of 100 professionals under the age of 21.

Doué, who joined PSG from Stade Rennes for €50 million in the summer of 2024, had an outstanding season. He won the domestic double and the Champions League, scoring two goals and providing an assist in the 5-0 final victory against Inter Milan. In total, he contributed to 32 goals in 61 games, boosting his market value from €30 million to €90 million.

“The Golden Boy is about dreams. For footballers under the age of 21, dreams are the fuel that drives their ambitions. Many winners since 2003 have gone on to win World Cups and Champions League titles – it’s the first big step on the road to greatness,” said Guido Vaciago, director of Tuttosport. “This year’s winner, Désiré Doué, has already made history with two goals in the Champions League final. He represents a generation of exceptional talents who will dominate the next decade.”

Alongside the main Golden Boy award, the “Golden Boy Web” will be awarded on December 1. Fans can vote for their favorite among 100 professionals until November 15. So far, 1.2 million votes have been cast, with Christos Mouzakitis of Olympiacos Piraeus currently leading.
