Oner has been a part of the T1 organization since March 2020, when he was a star prospect jungler for T1 Academy. At the start of the 2021 LCK Spring season, Oner was called to the main roster as a substitute jungler during T1’s infamous ten-man roster. Despite being on the main roster during the Spring Split, Oner played sparingly and usually played third fiddle to Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan and Choi “Ellim” El-lim for T1’s starting jungler position.
After a disappointing Spring Split and a coaching change, Oner was promoted to the starting jungler position. With Oner on the roster, T1 managed to salvage the Summer Split and finish as the fourth seed. Moving to the LCK Summer Playoffs, T1 surprised many and defeated Liiv Sandbox and Gen.G 3-0 and 3-1. Their playoff run ended after a 3-1 loss against DWG KIA in the Grand Finals.
At the 2021 World Championships, T1 would make it to the semi-finals, where they would have a rematch against DWG KIA. Despite being Oner’s first international tournament, he would play exceptionally well against the former world champions. Unfortunately, T1 would lose a thrilling five-game series 3-2.
Heading into the 2022 LCK Spring Split, Oner played an integral role in T1’s historic 18-0 regular-season record. Oner would be awarded the LCK second All-Pro Team honors, only finishing behind DWG KIA’s jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu. During the Spring Playoffs, Oner and T1 would sweep past Kwangdong Freecs and defeat Gen.G 3-1 in the Grand Finals, where he would be named the Finals MVP from his performance.
At MSI 2022, Oner continued Finals MVP form at the international tournament. Unfortunately, Oner and T1 would lose to Royal Never Give Up in a best-of-five series, failing to clinch his first international title.
T1 will be continuing to secure its promising roster by offering contract extensions to its young stars. After offering a contract extension with their top laner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, T1 has managed to secure Oner’s future under the T1 banner.
With this, T1, as of now, is:
- Choi “Zeus” Woo-je
- Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon
- Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok
- Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong
- Ryu “Keria” Min-seok
- Kim “Asper” Tae-gi (Sub/Sup)
- Choi “Polt” Seong-hun (General Manager/Head Coach)
