Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Ivory Coast centre-back Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP on a four-year contract, with an option for a further year, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday.
Forest did not disclose financial details, though British media reported the deal for the 22-year-old is worth approximately £34.3 million.
Diomande came through the academy system at Danish club Midtjylland before joining Sporting in 2023, where he rapidly became a key figure in the squad. He made 132 appearances across all competitions for the Lisbon side, contributing to back-to-back Primeira Liga title wins in 2023/24 and 2024/25, as well as the 2024/25 Portuguese Cup.

On the international stage, Diomande represented Ivory Coast at this year’s World Cup, where they were eliminated by Norway in the round of 32.
“Ousmane is a powerful, commanding defender, and arrives here with a winning mentality. He shares the same ambition for success we have, and we are excited to see the impact he can have in a Forest shirt,” said club Chief Football Officer George Syrianos.
Forest finished 16th in the Premier League last season and appointed Austrian manager Oliver Glasner in July as they look to reshape the squad ahead of the new campaign. They open the league season at home to Leeds United on August 22nd.
