Newcastle United to Face Manchester City in Carabao Cup Semifinals
Holders Newcastle United will take on eight-time winners Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. The first legs are set to kick off in the week beginning 14 January 2026, with the return fixtures scheduled for the week starting 2 February.
Chelsea await the winner of the quarter-final clash between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. The Gunners’ match against the Eagles was postponed to Tuesday, 23 December to ease Oliver Glasner‘s side’s fixture congestion, as they juggle Europa Conference League commitments.
Manchester City, who lifted the trophy four times in a row until 2021, are back in the semi-finals after a brief absence. Meanwhile, Newcastle are defending champions, having ended a 70-year domestic trophy drought by beating Liverpool in March.
Chelsea, runners-up in 2022 and 2024, last won the competition in 2015. Their semi-final opponent will be decided in the rescheduled London derby.
