Mohamed Salah has reportedly agreed a two-year contract with Besiktas following his departure from Liverpool, according to journalist Sercan Dikme speaking to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale. The deal is expected to be formalised in the coming days.
After leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, partly due to a falling out with sacked manager Arne Slot, Salah had been linked with clubs across the Saudi Pro League, Serie A, and MLS. Some outlets reported the Egyptian preferred to stay in Europe, and the Besiktas move would keep him on the continent, though without Champions League football.
What the Besiktas Move Means for Salah
The Turkish Super Lig destination raised eyebrows, given Besiktas will not compete in the Champions League next season. The 34-year-old spent his final years at Liverpool winning two Premier League titles and establishing himself among Europe’s elite forwards. He now faces a different kind of challenge.
