Matheus Cunha, Manchester United’s Brazilian striker, was set to light up Altrincham’s Christmas festivities alongside Sam Aston of Coronation Street fame. However, the event organizers announced his withdrawal just hours before, citing medical reasons and a training accident.
United has yet to confirm the extent of Cunha’s injury or his availability for Monday’s Premier League match against Everton. The club has not released further details, and it’s understood the appearance was not arranged through official channels.
Cunha, a £62.5m summer signing from Wolves, has been pivotal in United’s recent resurgence. Under Ruben Amorim, the team remains unbeaten in their last five games. Cunha scored his first goal for the club in a 4-2 victory over Brighton in October and featured in Brazil’s recent friendlies.
