Gossip: Man Utd set Fernandes fee as several big moves circulate in Europe
Manchester United have put a price on their captain, while a clutch of leading clubs are monitoring forwards and defenders across the continent. Here are the latest transfer whispers from Friday.
United, Bayern and Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes, 31, is being linked with a move away from Manchester United. United would reportedly demand around £40m to sanction a transfer to another European club, with Bayern Munich repeatedly named among the interested parties.
Liverpool chase two Nicos
Liverpool are said to be ready to bid big for Nico Williams, the 23-year-old forward from Athletic Club. Spanish reports put the fee at roughly €90m (£78m).
At the same time, the Reds are expected to open talks over Nico Schlotterbeck, the 25-year-old Germany international who plays for Borussia Dortmund. That approach could come during the summer window.
Vlahović interest grows
Dusan Vlahović, 25, currently with Juventus, will be a free agent next summer and is on Barcelona’s radar. Bayern Munich are also described as contenders for his signature, amid wider concerns at Bayern about the fate of Harry Kane, 32, and the possibility a rival might trigger a release clause to take him.
Newcastle target and Real Madrid moves
Elliot Anderson, 22, the England international at Nottingham Forest, is expected to feature on Newcastle United‘s long list of summer targets as they look to bring the midfielder back to the North East.
Real Madrid are monitoring Dayot Upamecano, 26, with the France defender out of contract next summer and willing to listen to offers. The Spanish club are also weighing loan options for 19-year-old forward Endrick in January, though West Ham are not viewed as a likely destination.
Real are said to be bracing for offers for forward Gonzalo García, 21, in January after his showing at the Fifa Club World Cup left a strong impression but his place in the squad has since slipped.
Other names to watch
- Fisnik Asllani, 23, the Hoffenheim forward who represents Kosovo, is being monitored by Barcelona and could leave Germany next summer.
- Bobby Clark, 20, owned by Red Bull Salzburg and currently on loan at Championship side Derby County, looks set for a January move to Scottish champions Celtic.
Expect the rumours to shift quickly as clubs firm up plans for January and the summer market. We’ll keep tracking developments.
