Chelsea Football Club have officially confirmed the appointment of Liam Rosenior as head coach of the men’s first team, with the Englishman signing a long-term contract running until 2032.
Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge following an impressive spell overseas with RC Strasbourg, where he guided the Ligue 1 side to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season in France.
Rosenior Returns to the Premier League
The 40-year-old now returns to the Premier League after earlier managerial roles with Hull City and Derby County, having built a growing reputation for developing players, implementing a clear tactical identity and setting high professional standards.
Speaking after his appointment, Rosenior expressed pride and ambition at taking charge of one of England’s most decorated clubs.
“I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed head coach of Chelsea Football Club,” Rosenior said.
“This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies. My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects those values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies.”

Rosenior emphasised unity, collective responsibility and culture as central pillars of his project.

The new head coach also delivered a clear message to Chelsea supporters, underlining the importance of identity and connection with the fanbase.
“I want our fans to be proud of who we are and what we represent in every single game,” Rosenior said.
“They are the soul of this enormous, historic football club. I cannot wait to meet you all and I cannot wait to get started.”
