AC Milan have confirmed the departure of midfielder Ismael Bennacer, ending the Algeria international’s seven-year association with the club.
The 28-year-old joined Milan from Empoli in 2019 and went on to make 137 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri, playing a central role in their 2021/22 Scudetto triumph. Persistent knee injuries derailed the latter stages of his time in Milan, leading to loan spells at Olympique de Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb. His last competitive appearance for the Italian club came in 2024.
“AC Milan can confirm the termination of Ismael Bennacer’s contract by mutual consent. The Club would like to wish him all the best for the future.”
The club’s brief Friday statement confirmed the split was by mutual consent. Bennacer’s exit closes a chapter that peaked with a title-winning campaign but ultimately stalled due to injury disruption. Follow TipsGG for continued coverage of Serie A transfers and match analysis.
