Inter Milan vs. PSG: Road to the UEFA Champions League Final 2025

23.05.2025, 03:38

The Allianz Arena in Munich will be the site of the Champions League final on May 31, 2025. Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, two European powerhouses with very different backgrounds, have fought hard in intense games, dramatic nights, and moments of individual brilliance to get to this season’s main event. This is their trip.

Paris Saint-Germain: Road to UCL Final 2025

It wasn’t easy for PSG to get to Munich. The first few games of the group stage were close wins, like the 1-0 win over Girona. But there were also some tense games, like the home draw against PSV and losses to Arsenal, Atlético Madrid, and Bayern Munich. By the end of November, there were still doubts about whether this team was tough enough to win European gold.

But after December, Luis Enrique’s team found a new gear.

After a 3-0 win away in Salzburg, they put on a string of great games, including an amazing 4–2 win over Manchester City and back-to-back wins away in Germany and France. PSG beat Liverpool in the round of 16 by a narrow 1-0 score at Anfield to force penalties after the two teams tied 1-1 overall. Then confidence went through the roof.

Then there was excitement in the quarterfinals. A 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the first leg gave them just enough of a lead after losing 3-2 in the second leg. Then PSG went back to London to play Arsenal in the semifinals. This time, they got back at Arsenal. The French giants made it to their second Champions League final, after a clinical 1-0 win on the road and a calm 2-1 performance in Paris. They are still looking for their first title.

Inter Milan: Road to UCL Final 2025

If PSG’s trip was rough, Inter Milan’s was smooth as glass. It took the Nerazzurri only six games to go through the group stage without losing, and they only let in one goal. Their 1-0 wins over Arsenal, Leipzig, and Young Boys showed that they had a team that was well-organized.

Their winning run was a great example of how to work quickly. After beating Feyenoord 4-1 overall, they put on a show in Germany, beating Bayern Munich 2-1 in the first game and then drawing 2-2 in Milan to make it to the semi-finals.

In the semifinal, at Camp Nou, a thrilling 3–3 tie against Barcelona set the stage for a famous night at the San Siro. The second leg ended 4–3 in favor of Inter after extra time, giving them a 7–6 win overall and a spot in the final for the first time since 2010.

The Milan men are now one step closer to winning their fourth European title. They are battle-tested, smart tactically, and loaded with weapons, making them a dangerous foe for PSG’s long-awaited coronation in Europe.
