The 23-year-old wrapped up a productive loan spell in France, making 30 appearances in all competitions and scoring 12 goals, more than half of those outings coming from the bench. It was a genuine bounce-back campaign for a player whose career trajectory had stalled in recent years.

Monaco are prepared to make the deal permanent, but Fati is stalling. According to Mundo Deportivo:

“The academy graduate, under contract with Barça until 2028, has not yet given his final approval and is still being considered as an option to strengthen the Barça squad.”

Fati is settled at Monaco, yet holds a belief that he can still contribute at the highest level back in Catalonia. Hansi Flick’s side has not yet initiated contact with the player over his future.

Barcelona are also yet to reach a final decision on Marcus Rashford‘s status, leaving the club’s attacking options for next season an open question. Fati, contracted at Camp Nou until 2028, remains part of the internal conversation as the club shapes its squad plan.
