Everton forward Martin Sherif has been formally charged by the Football Association for breaching its betting regulations, with the governing body alleging he placed 61 bets on football matches across a 15-month window.
Sherif, 20, has yet to appear for Everton’s first team. He spent last season on loan at third-tier clubs Rotherham United and Port Vale.
“It is alleged that the player breached FA Rule E1.2 in respect of 61 bets placed on football matches between November 20th 2024 and February 12th 2026. Martin Sherif has until Monday, August 17th to provide a response.” — The FA
The charge places Sherif among a growing list of players caught up in the FA’s ongoing enforcement of its betting rules. Ivan Toney remains the most prominent case, receiving an eight-month suspension in 2023 after being found guilty of 232 separate breaches.
