In a landmark shift for the Dota 2 ecosystem, Valve has officially released the TI14 Compendium — and for the first time in history, it’s entirely free for all players. That’s right: no battle pass, no paywall, just pure International hype accessible to everyone.
The Compendium includes full access to Fantasy, predictions, and rewards — all without spending a dime. Instead of funding the prize pool through compendium sales, Valve is redirecting the spotlight to Team and Talent Bundles. These bundles now serve as the tournament’s primary financial engine, with revenue shared between the prize pool and the teams involved.
How to Earn Points and Level Up
Compendium progression is now tied directly to prediction accuracy and Fantasy performance. Players will be rewarded for their foresight during the Group Stage: correctly guessing which teams will advance — and which will fall short — earns you points.
Want to earn more? Predict which squads will finish with dominating 4–0 records or stumble at 0–4. Nail those outcomes, and you’ll climb faster toward higher tiers of in-game loot and recognition. It’s a rewarding loop that puts your game knowledge to the test.
Rewards for the Faithful
Valve hasn’t skimped on the rewards. Participants can earn:
- Five brand-new Immortal sets
- A Dota Plus subscription
- A token to unlock any Arcana
- A hefty discount on a physical Aegis of Champions
The grand prize? A full-size Aegis replica — free for the top 1500 predictors. Everyone else can purchase it from the Valve store for $150. This competitive edge to reward distribution adds serious bragging rights to prediction accuracy.
New Revenue Model: Team and Talent Bundles
Alongside the free compendium, Valve launched the International 2025 Team and Talent Bundles. These packs feature exclusive content like voice lines, stickers, loading screens, and more — created directly by the teams and community personalities themselves.
Here’s how the revenue splits:
- 50% goes directly to the featured team or talent
- 30% goes into the International’s prize pool
For the first time, some large community broadcasts — including Brazilian Portuguese, Filipino, and Ukrainian — also have dedicated bundles, marking a step toward global fan inclusivity.
Mark the Dates
The International 2025 will be held from September 4 to 14 in Hamburg, Germany, featuring 16 elite teams battling for the Aegis and a prize pool starting at $1.6 million, boosted by community support via bundles.
