France national team coach Didier Deschamps has weighed in on the transfer rumours surrounding Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, stopping short of directing his player’s next career decision while making clear what he would want if the choice were his.

Deschamps described the 24-year-old as “a shining star and one of the best players in the world,” praising his trajectory while acknowledging that Olise keeps a deliberate distance from media attention.
“He’s not one for the media spotlight. What counts is what happens on the pitch; off it, he has his own life, but his rise has been magnificent.”
On the question of whether Olise should leave or remain at FC Bayern Munich, Deschamps was measured. He refused to push his player in either direction, stating plainly that there is no objectively correct path.
“He will know very well whether he stays at FC Bayern Munich or needs a change of scenery. There is no right or wrong choice.”
Deschamps did, though, make his personal preference transparent.
“If I were in Kompany’s shoes or in the Bayern president’s position, I would of course be very pleased to have him in the team and for him to stay at FC Bayern.”
Olise is contracted to FC Bayern Munich until 2029. Club officials have repeatedly stated the France international is not available in the upcoming transfer window. Follow TipsGG for continued coverage of this story and all major transfer developments heading into the summer window.
